Shipping Info
We provide you with information of shipment from Bali to round the world.
The first thing you need to know is there are 5 (five) ways where cargo can move the goods from here to your destinations as follows:
1. Air Freight
2. LCL (Less Container Loud) charged per cubic meter
3. 20’ Container (30 cubic meters)
4. 40’ Container (60 cubic meters)
5. 40’ High Cube Container (72 cubic meters).
1. Air Cargo / Freight
Air Cargo is charged by weight or volume, whichever be greatest. For example our standard box is 59 x 48 x 35 cm. According to Airlines, that carton box volume is equal to 17 kilos. If there is less than 17 kilos of product in that box, then you still pay for 17 kilos, but if there is more than 17 kilos you pay the greater amount. Air cargo can be extremely effective that may be our customers take small portion of their sea cargo order via air so that they can get samples quickly in front of their buyers or fill in some inventory needs. Transit time for most destinations via Air Cargo normally takes around 3-5 days.
2. LCL (Less Container Load – charged per cubic meter)
Shipping via LCL means that your product will be wrapped by paper and then framed with wooden crates around the cartons. Your crates are then moved to our cargo company. As the official government documents is completed, the shipment will be moved by truck to the port of Surabaya, Java.
Since your shipment is just a few wooden crates and is not a full container, then it must wait at the port while the shipping company “Consolidates“ your order with other small orders which is going to the same direction.
The shipping company waits for enough order to combine with yours and full the container, usually it will wait for 1-2 weeks. We recommend you to place and order for Full Container Load (FCL) than Less Container Load (LCL). Normally it takes around 5 to 7 weeks.
The disadvantages of placing on LCL order are as follows:
- LCL is more expensive in meter than a full container. With FCL you get the full use of the cubic meters inside the container, but with LCL wooden crates you loss about 30% of the useable space due to the crates and take off flexibility when packing large products. That means you are actually packing 30% more just in lost space.
- LCL shipment always has to be consolidated, and it takes longer time than a full container.
Example: full container will take around 30 days from ship on board until destination, but for LCL it will take around 45 – 60 days.
- Your wooden crate handled in a variety of places. It will be moved from our warehouse to truck then to cargo, after cargo it goes to port, then to the ship, and finally to your port destination.
LCL is more expensive and not as safe as to ship it with a full container (20’ or 40’).
Example:
The rate per a 20’ container (30 cubic meters including of the freight, trucking, handling, documents, fumigation, transport, etc.) to West Coast, USA port is USD $3,750.00 (or about USD $125.00 per cubic meter) compared to 30 cubic meters via LCL (USD $5,400.00), that saves around USD $1,650.00 or about 35% less.
FCL (Full Container Load) 20 Feet Container
Dimension for 20’ container with 30 cubic meters maximum weight is 22 tons. It takes around 4 – 6 weeks.
Advantages to ship by FCL are as follows:
- You get the entire use of the 30 cubic meters of space. When we packed on order for container, we use cardboard carton. We do not have to pack everything in wooden crates with an exception of something extremely valuable or fragile.
- There is no delay when we ordered a container for your shipment, and a truck will bring the container from Surabaya to Bali and immediately return to Surabaya and put it on the ship. Container goes to the United States/Europe will arrive in around 30 days, to Australia and Asia takes even less time. If you plan an order well you can generally get USD $8,000.00 to USD $12,000 into 20’ container, double those numbers for 40’ container
4. FCL (Full Container Load) 40 Feet Container
Dimension for 40’ container is 60 cubic meters and maximum weight 26 tons. It takes about 4 – 6 weeks. It would hold an additional 30 cubic meter of product you basically get more 30 cubic meters of free space.
5. FCL (Full Container Load) 40 Feet High Cube Container
Dimension for 40’ High Cube container is 72 cubic meter and maximum 26 tons. It takes around 4 – 6 weeks. That cost just frictionally more than 40’ regular, but holds another 12 cubic meters. This most often get used when we planned an order to fit into 40’ regular, but underestimated the space necessary so we will step up to a high cube extremely cost effective.
Now the example of saving l give you using USA, hold true for just about every other destination in the world LCL is the most expensive way and least save way to you while 20’ and 40’ containers are the safest and most effective ones.
